DR. RICHARD KLAUTSCH

Film and Television Arts at Boise State University

Dr. Richard Klautsch is a Professor of Theatre Arts at Boise State. He has been the chair of the department since 1998. In the fall of 2017 he became the chair of the new Department of Theatre, Film, and Creative Writing. TFCW introduced five new undergraduate degrees in Film, and Creative Writing and has grown to almost 300 majors. Richard was a company member of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival for over twenty years and an actor and director at Boise Contemporary Theater. He has also performed at the Great Lakes Theatre in Cleveland and at the Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival. He can be seen in the movie “Making Sense,” currently available on Amazon Prime. Richard is a board member for the National Association of Schools of Theatre. He earned his MFA and PhD at Wayne State University in Detroit.
