KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
FAQs
1. What time do the performances start?
Performances start at 7:00 PM on Wednesdays and Thursdays, at 8 PM on Fridays and Saturday, and at 2:00 PM for Saturday matinees.
2. What is BCT’s Late Seating Policy?
Because of the configuration of the theater, there is NO LATE SEATING. Latecomers may be seated in their assigned seats after intermission. Until they are seated, latecomers may listen to the production from speakers located in the lobby.
3. What is the BCT Ticket Exchange Policy?
Tickets are non-refundable, but exchanges to a different date within the run of the same show may be made for an additional $2 per ticket. Exchanges must be requested at least 48 hours prior to the original performance. Ticket changes made less than 48 hours in advance of a scheduled performance will be charged a $5 change fee per ticket. Ticket exchanges for Members and Season Ticket holders are free, and can be made any time up to 2 hours prior to the performance. In lieu of a refund, tickets may be donated back to BCT and that donation is tax-deductible. BCT reserves the right to charge an additional fee for additional exchanges. To rebook your tickets call the Box Office at 208.331.9224
4. Do I need paper tickets?
No, you don’t need paper tickets. Your email confirmation will contain your performance date and seating assignment. We have your information in our system and we will check you in when you arrive.
5. May I bring my children to the theater?
Many of our plays include strong language and mature themes and are best suited for mature audiences (17 and older). However, some of our plays are accessible to ages 6 and up. Check out the individual show pages for information on content and age advisories. Children under 6 are not allowed at Mainstage performances. We do offer a Children’s Reading Series each season, which is best suited for children ages 6 and up; however, some of those stories are appropriate for ages 4 and up. If you have questions regarding age recommendations for specific shows, please see the page on our website for that particular show, or call the Box Office at 208.331.9224.
6. Do all shows have an intermission?
It depends. Usually there is one fifteen minute intermission. Longer shows may have more than one intermission, and shorter plays may not include an intermission at all. For information on the length of a show and the number of intermissions, please see the page on our website for that particular show, or call the Box Office at 208.331.9224.
7. Are food or drinks allowed in the theater?
You will find beer, wine, coffee, as well as a selection of other hot and cold drinks for purchase in the BCT lobby. Chocolate from The Chocolat Bar, and peanuts from City Peanut Shop are also available for sale. Concessions open one hour prior to curtain. Beer, wine, and coffee served by BCT are generously provided by Payette Brewing, Hayden Beverage, and Dawson Taylor. Food and drink are allowed in the theater.
