A small boutique in downtown Boise has been selling a unique mix of products and goods for more than a decade.

Owner Star Moxley opened Crazy Neighbor in 2014 with the goal of fulfilling a need that she had while still working in the theater industry. In 2018, her store was named The Best Boutique in Idaho by Architectural Digest.

“I was still working as a costume designer for The Idaho Shakespeare Festival and Boise Contemporary Theater and found it very difficult to find local sources for many of the products I needed and wanted,” Moxley said. “It became a question of what to sell and that’s how the broad range of products came to exist. Hence the name “Crazy Neighbor”… a wide mix of hard-to-find and unique items.”

Crazy Neighbor, which is located in the Linen District at 1415 W Grove St, sells a wide variety of products including jewelry, makeup, scarves, hair products, bags, masquerade masks, suspenders, hosiery, wigs, beauty products, home décor and gift items.

“Frequently our customers have told us when they are wearing something from Crazy Neighbor people will always ask where they found it,” Moxley said. “We are offering an inviting and enchanting view of delightful surprises and whimsy all at affordable prices.”

Moxley says she buys products and goods from over 100 various vendors.

“As a buyer for Crazy Neighbor I am constantly looking for new, stylish, quality pieces for our customers,” Moxley said. “We really want people in the Treasure Valley to know we are here offering style and variety, for you, family and friends.”

Moxley said that construction is happening in front of their building on Grove St between 14th and 15th St from August through November but Crazy Neighbor will remain open.

“We are asking for continual support from our existing customers and new people willing to take on a bit of construction chaos,” Moxley said. “We hope the reward will be what’s found in our shop.”

Crazy Neighbor is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm. Products are also featured and are for sale on their website here.
