Between 1947 and 1977, Robert Lowell and Elizabeth Bishop exchanged more than four hundred letters. Describing the writing of their poems, their travels and illnesses, the pyrotechnics of their romantic relationships, and the profound affection they held for each other, these missives are the most intimate record available of both poets, and one of the greatest correspondences in American literature. Dear Elizabeth gives voice to a conversation that lived mostly in writing, illuminating some of the finest poems of the twentieth century and the minds that produced them.

A girl catches a last-minute flight to Maui. A boy finds a girl on the shores of Ka’anapali. Something strange and something familiar pulls them closer. They spend the week together. Maybe they fall in love. And maybe love changes things. But not everything. There are words. There are songs. There are surprises.

Up in northern Idaho, Floyd catches “mad as a hatter” Critter trying to bury a body on his property. Turns out, Critter’s strangled the man — his uncle Hubby — and figured Floyd’s yard would be as good as any since there’s already “a pack of graves right here”….. So begins this ferociously funny, frequently terrifying play by acclaimed author, Denis Johnson. In it, he challenges America’s myths, heroes, and everyday realities with verve, violence, and eloquence. Denis Johnson’s has written many novels, including the book of short stories Jesus’s Son (1993) and Tree of Smoke (2007), which won the National Book Award for Fiction.
